The Morristown & Erie Railway, in partnership with Norfolk Southern and New Jersey Transit, operated an excursion train from Hoboken Terminal to the NS intermodal yard in Bethlehem PA and return, heading west over a former Lehigh Valley route and returning east over a former Delaware, Lackawanna and Western route. Some of the mileage covered that day was considered rare mileage. MOUNT VERNON was one of several private cars leased by M&E Railway for premium fare first class service.
